ICS problem under Windows 互联网共享服务问题

We know that under windows xp the Internet Connection Sharing service is combined with the windows firwall service, but when in the windows 7 these two service is detached. So many people use the virtual AP for the network sharing both under the XP and Win 7, and they will find the ICS service sometimes failure.

Especially, when using a non-temporary Virtual AP, the two services must be opened, or you will see the following error:

an error occurred while internet connection sharing was being enabled.   (null)

A funny phenomenon, when use the temporary Virtual AP, we do not need to start the windows firewall service for  supporting the ICS service. Wheras once you start the Virtual AP(non temporary) by using the CMD command "netsh wlan start hostednetwork", you must start the firewall service and when stop this you will not use the Virtaul AP (both temporary and non temporary). May it is a BUG.

So if you meet the error "an error occurred while internet connection sharing was being enabled.   (null)", try to start the following services:

Application Layer Gateway Service
Network Connections
Network Location Awareness (NLA)
Plug And Play
Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
Remote Access Connection Manager
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Telephony
Windows Firewall  (specilly recommend)
